The acquisition, in Zoom’s intentions, should help improve its presence in the business customer segment and allow to accelerate its long-term growth opportunity by adding a call center market of 24 billion dollars.
Five9 is a cloud-based call center software pioneer.
Its highly scalable and secure cloud contact center offers a comprehensive suite of easy-to-use applications that allows managing and optimizing interactions with customers across many different channels.
The acquisition of Five9 by Zoom is complementary to the growing popularity of the company’s Zoom Phone offer.
Zoom Phone is a modern cloud phone system that provides a digital alternative to traditional phone deals, allowing organizations to connect and interact in new and convenient ways to keep businesses evolving.
The combination, added Zoom, also offers both companies significant cross-selling opportunities at their respective customer bases.
As a result of the acquisition, Zoom hopes to have an even greater role in supporting the future of the digital world and in bringing companies closer to their customers.
This is just the first step of a process, Zoom specified.
The transaction, which should close in the first half of the 2022 calendar year, is subject to the approval of Five9 shareholders, upon receipt of the required regulatory approvals and other usual closing conditions.
