With the launch of the project Agritech Innovation Hub Tim and Confagricoltura want to have a leading role in the development of smart agriculture in our country.

Lupin of Tim, Luigi Gubitosi, and the President of Confagricoltura, Massimiliano Giansanti, have signed the protocol of the Understanding with which they intend to support agricultural entrepreneurs in economic, technological and social recovery in the post-Co period

The agreement provides for the start of a collaboration that will lead to the establishment of a Foundation participated by institutional actors and national partners interested in the implementation of innovative technologies in the agricultural world.

The Foundation’s work can be accompanied by an Advisory Hub, consisting of a consulting company in the sector and an Industrial Hub, consisting of industrial companies, with the task of creating and proposing innovative offers and products, scalable and affordable for the entire network

The hub will be based on a specific platform for digitalisation of services and data management, aimed at creating integrated, tailor-made and immediate offers for agricultural entrepreneurs.

The understanding will have to give strong impetus to the process of digitization of the internal and rural areas, in order to facilitate the adoption of applications that use the potential of fibre and related services to support the enterprises of agriculture, that produce, transform and market essential goods and services.

For Tim and Confagricoltura, the applications of smart agriculture, which will show their potential with the diffusion of 5G and the IoT, are multiple: from the field sensors, which are planted in the ground or installed on the plants and they continuously detect parameters such as

In the wearable sector, collars and smart tags applied to livestock already allow to continuously acquire biometric parameters of the animals in the stables or raised outdoors.

Drones equipped with cameras, multispectral sensors and GPS geolocation systems, acquire useful data to obtain orthophotos, vigor indices and prescription maps that help to understand the health status of the crops and the amount of seeds, fertilizer and plant protection from

The agreement provides that Tim, through the program Operation Digital Risorgimento, realized together with primary partners with the objective of spreading digital culture in the country, will organize seminars and moments of professional training to the associates Confagricoltura in order to facilitate the learning of the processes
