Qlik announced the acquisition of Knarr Analytics’ assets and intellectual property, a start-up that provides real-time collaboration, data exploration and insight acquisition capabilities, complementing the cloud data and analysis platform The acquisition of Knarr Analytics is advancing Qlik’s vision in the world of Active Intelligence, where technology and processes activate immediate action from real-time updated data to accelerate business value across the entire
The need for real-time data-based decision-making, which requires the merging and use of new on-demand data sources, has highlighted a gap in the supply chain of data and analytics. This gap requires a new way of thinking that focuses on collaboration between all the subjects involved in data and analysis, from data integrators and data stewards, to BI developers and analytics consumers.
Knarr can help create a unique data fabric and insights, involving more users throughout the entire analytical process, bringing out a broader business context for both underlying data and the resulting insights. This level of collaboration and sharing is essential for the creation of continuous intelligence at the centre of Active Intelligence, able to guide the action and value from data.
Knarr Intellectual Property will improve Insight Advisor experience within the Qlik Sense analytics cloud platform, as well as the exploration experience in the data catalog.
The terms of the agreement shall not be made public. Knarr Analytics co-founder and CTO Speros Kokenes, as well as Qlik Luminary, will join Qlik as a member of the applied research team and emerging technologies. Knarr Analytics products will no longer be on sale and Qlik will support potential customers and existing partners, while bringing the Knarr IP to Qlik’s cloud platform through 2021.
