The Privacy Authority has expressed its support for the new regulation scheme on the public register of users who oppose the use of their personal data and telephone number for sales or commercial promotions.

Thanks to the new features introduced, consumers will soon be able to oppose the reception not only of unwanted calls via operator, but also of those made with the use of automated systems, contact methods that had so far escaped the limitations sanctioned by the previous discipline. Registration in the RPO will, inter alia, result in the withdrawal of previous consumer consents, in order to avoid the continuation of any abuse.
