We talk with them about four key themes of digital transformation: resilience, cybersecurity, cloud, environmental and social sustainability and the answers allow you to build the ICT reality participation map for the country’s growth in the digital sense.
And there is one more theme, the fifth: in a spirit of consultation, we ask that Italian entrepreneurs be given an extra idea, capable of producing immediate value in terms of efficiency and competitiveness.
For Ntt Ltd, the Country Managing Director in Italy, Emanuele Balistreri, responded to us
A year after the Recovery Plan, where are we with the real transformation of the country: with what solutions, skills and services do you participate in the missions of the PNRR involving digital?
The acceleration of digital transformation over the last two years has received further impetus thanks to the opportunities made possible today by the PNRR. As a global provider of technological and business solutions, technological innovation, new hybrid working methods, digital health, industry 4.0, cybersecurity and sustainability are the pillars of our core business: as such, they are all

2021 was the year in which the theme of cybersecurity landed in all businesses. What concrete prospects did you give for 2022?
The continuing, increasingly targeted and sophisticated threats to the essential service sectors and exploiting the vulnerabilities emerging with the new hybrid working methods, see us at the forefront of spreading the culture based on zero-trust, cyber resilience and a new approach to the development of new technologies.
The positive signal of the Government, with the establishment of the Cybersecurity Agency, has given further impetus to organizations in giving priority to their cybersecurity strategies and, at the same time, allows us to create synergies between public and private and a more
If well rooted, the increased awareness of the cyber risks to which you can be exposed, and the consequent planning and implementation of some basic principles of cybersecurity, put companies in a position to manage, respond and restore their desired security status, in
The key component of digital transformation is the cloud. What are the choices that Italian companies will have to make in 2022?
And if innovation was the driving force behind the change in the world, the cloud, specifically, has now won the role of real enabler of digital transformation.
The ability to adapt and the speed at which companies have to respond today to changing market scenarios, impose agility and scalability that only the cloud, whether private, public or hybrid, is able to offer. NTT Ltd. believes that the cloud can accelerate processes, encourage collaboration and provide effective solutions to free up IT budgets for growth, transformation and innovation. The cloud has proved crucial to enable new and emerging technologies to promote the innovation agenda, thus making companies future-proof.
Again, NTT Ltd. believes that the Government has made a significant contribution to supporting wider adoption of the cloud, especially in the area of Public Administration, encouraging more public-private collaboration and generating numerous opportunities.
To do this, companies need to be able to understand which cloud mode is most appropriate and able to support their business goals. How? Through infrastructure investments and the involvement of value business partners, such as NTT Ltd., able to direct organizations towards the most similar solution to the peculiarities of different realities.
After the Cop26 it was understood that sustainability, both environmental and social, now affects not only all countries but also all companies. What is your strategy on these issues?

ICT idea of 2022
If you were to offer a single investment (product, solution, methodology) to an Italian company, a choice that could produce an immediate benefit in terms of efficiency and competitiveness, what would your advice be about?
The evidence of the Managed Services Report 2021 of Ntt Ltd. reports that 92% of the IOC involved recognize the cruciality of choosing a correct Service Provider as a enabler of a successful technology and business strategy.
This is even more true if we take into account the Italian economic fabric, characterized by SMEs, where the ultimate goal is to make the most of and make the best use of the resources available. We often meet companies that face the rock of limited resources and used to manage processes that are important for their proper functioning, but that bring low added value in terms of competitive advantage. In this logic, I believe that outsourcing of infrastructure management and non-core processes through the use of a Service Provider represents the winning choice to allow business teams to focus on business critical activities with high added value.
A holistic and advisory approach, the ability to understand business and technological needs and the competence to address them through concrete solutions, represent the value that a Service Provider can add.
Emerging technologies, the ability to automate and implement innovation are among the key strategies to address the growing demand for resilience and agility. In this context of increasing complexity, again, the role of an external service provider becomes the key to calling IT infrastructure management and focusing on business objectives. This approach allows, on the one hand, to support the objectives of the entire organisation, and not only those of IT; on the other hand, thanks to the technical and strategic skills that a Service Provider can provide, to lighten the pressure of IT teams in the management of hybrid
