Tim announces the birth of Noovle SpA, a new company entirely controlled by the Tim Group, which aims to be an Italian centre of excellence for cloud and l’edge computing.
The aim of Noovle is to enhance the offer of innovative Tim services of public, private and hybrid cloud to companies and public administration to accelerate the digital transformation of Italy.
The new cloud company brings together the digital expertise of the Tim Group, the data centers that connect to it and the specialist professionalism of Noovle Srl, a company acquired by Tim last May and among Google’s main partners
Noovle will focus on providing tailored multicloud services and solutions for Tim customers, ranging from managing network infrastructure data centers to design and assistance services, migration to the cloud and supporting related management activities
Noovle wants to accompany companies in cloud transformation projects and innovate the world of work and digital experience, with services that will have security at the heart of the proposal.
Carlo D’Asaro Biondo, who joined Tim last April, will be CEO. Mariarosaria Taddeo, professor associated with Oxford University, expert in digital technologies and artificial intelligence, will be non-executive president.
With an Italian proprietary network of 17 data centers (made according to the most advanced technological and safety standards and according to the latest best practices of environmental sustainability in compliance with the Esg Group objectives) Noovle will give innovative resources and services with server management
Tim will entrust Noovle with the task of creating six new data centers specialized in public and hybrid cloud offerings, with TIER IV certification, and managing seven Core data centers and four service centers already operating for the provision of IT solutions
Overall, this is a state-of-the-art infrastructure that in 2022 will reach over 50,000 square meters of total national area for a capacity that will reach up to 100 MW of usable IT power and closely integrated with Tim’s primary fibre optic network for a structural reduction
Noovle shares with about 1,000 professionals and estimates to reach 1 billion euros of turnover in 2024 with an average annual growth of about 20% and an expected EBITDA of about 400 million euros.
The strategic choice to focus Tim’s cloud skills in Noovle is part of the broader path of major technological investments that the Group is making for the development of latest generation network infrastructure, key competences in Information Technology and the cloud to support
Noovle will strengthen the alliance already initiated by the Tim Group with Google Cloud and will use strategic partnerships with Atos, Cisco, Citrix, Microsoft, Salesforce, Sap and Vmware.
