As Alberto Bastianon, Director Presales of Dell Technologies Italia, notes, progress such as 5G, collaborative apps and conference software offer more efficient ways of working together, adapting to what users, but also companies, demand.

In this way, working remotely with a colleague in another country or attending a brainstorming meeting with 50 people in the world, becomes the new normal.

The availability of broadband connectivity, easy access to email servers and collaborative software are key elements to ensure the efficiency of smart workers and a smooth user experience comparable to that experienced in everyday life.

In 5G the house of smart working

And precisely because of this scenario, according to Bastianon, 5G will play an increasingly central role in the development of agile work, since no longer will be felt any difference between being connected on the network within the company or working on the move.

But in what terms? According to Bastianon, the change will focus on the approach to the possibilities of maximizing the potential of 5G.

One new feature will be the possibility to segment the 5G bandwidth so as to reserve specific network portions for certain enterprise applications or users, creating an end-to-end experience through cloud orchestration.

The most important novelty, however, for Bastianon, will be to propose an edge computing model that companies are already beginning to consider in order to implement in the 5G network real-time applications to use data intensively in proximity to the users, and this for the purpose
