A year after the Recovery Plan, where are we with the real transformation of the country: with what solutions, skills and services do you participate in the missions of the PNRR involving digital?

When the health emergency is deflagrated at the beginning of 2020, companies have had to quickly introduce urgent measures to allow their employees to work remotely and reorganize a large part of their operations. After an initial phase of loss common to many realities, there was an acceleration of digital transformation projects and investments in technology became a priority of business essential.

However, we feel some slowdown by companies and public administrations in using Recovery funds to develop digital transformation strategies that have a strategic view of the medium to long term and that are concretely a flywheel to relaunch.

A phenomenon that also emerges from a recent global study by Forrester Consulting, commissioned by Dell Technologies, in which 45% of companies claim that they have not yet managed to achieve their digitalization goals.

2021 was the year in which the theme of cybersecurity landed in all businesses. What concrete prospects did you give for 2022?

We are witnessing numerous global attacks, particularly on health. With our technologies and expertise in the field of cyber residence, we will continue to work also during 2022 to restore services to citizens and sensitive data endangered by cyber attacks.

In this context, our PowerProtect Cyber Recovery solution plays a key role. It allows intelligent automation of workloads to protect and isolate critical data, identify suspicious activities, and accelerate data recovery to quickly resume normal business operations.

The key component of digital transformation is the cloud. What are the choices that Italian companies will have to make in 2022?

I think it will be increasingly crucial to implement an IT management mode in As a Service mode and to make a detailed analysis of the type of services and data to be passed through the cloud.

Sustainability and social responsibility are as crucial as the success of products or services placed on the market.

That a private company has among its objectives the profitability and production of profits is almost established. It is misleading to think that company performance is disconnected from the impact of the performance on society and the environment in which they are integrated.

If you were to offer a single investment (product, solution, methodology) to an Italian company, a choice that could produce an immediate benefit in terms of efficiency and competitiveness, what would your advice be about?

For most companies globally, exponential data growth has become a real burden rather than an advantage. The volume, the speed at which they are generated, and the different types of data held by companies, are overwhelming the same technology, creating problems for the work teams and processes. In general, the possibility of taking advantage of the possession and analysis of your data is breaking down on a number of barriers, ranging from the gap of internal skills to privacy and security issues.

To enhance data, to transform it into information, to leverage on the latest generation platforms and artificial intelligence, are essential elements for all companies want to remain competitive in this decade, defined precisely as “the era of data”.
