At the end of November, Apple announced the launch of Entrepreneur Camp, a new programme to support female entrepreneurship. The program was born with the aim of creating new opportunities for women-owned or run companies. A fairly unique initiative, clearly focused on the app industry.
The program is now ready to go and Apple announced the inauguration of the first Entrepreneur Camp. The first group of participants consists of 11 women-based app development companies.
The aim of the program is to provide women working in the field of app development with the tools needed for their business. So to succeed in modern global economy and, specifically, in the app economy. An area, that of the app economy, that in recent years has experienced an exciting growth.
Since the launch of the App Store in 2008, Apple says, developers have earned a total of 120 billion dollars. More than a quarter of these revenues were recorded only in the past year.
The inaugural session of the Entrepreneur Camp offers access to laboratories, engineers and Apple experience in business and marketing.
Sessions for entrepreneurs and programmers
Apple’s Entrepreneur Camp program does not remain at a theoretical level but comes into the merits of app technologies. It causes the hands to get dirty in the code, with hardware and framesworks. The heart of the programme is in fact represented by an intensive and practical technology laboratory. During this workshop participants will have the opportunity to work on their apps under the guidance of Apple experts and engineers.
The program also includes design, technology and marketing sessions of the App Store. And it provides the support and continuous mentoring of an Apple Developer Relations representative. Participants will also have meetings with Apple leaders and leaders. Meetings will focus on a variety of topics, such as the latest progress in machine learning and augmented reality.
Of course, the program is designed to help developers make the most of the latest generation of Apple technologies. For example, to optimize apps for the A12 Bionic chip, integrate Core ML, leverage ARKit for immersive experiences and more. Each participating company will also receive two tickets for the WWDC and free registration for one year at the Apple Developer Program.

The Entrepreneur Camp will hold sessions on a quarterly basis with a group of up to 20 companies selected for each round. In order to participate in the program, app-based companies must have been founded or co-founded by a woman or be led by a woman, and have at least one woman in the development team. They must also have a working app or prototype.
