•Because of concerns about coronavirus (COOVID-19) and in accordance with the health claims of the Center of Disease Control and Prevention, the World Health Organization and other health authorities, we have decided to cancel the physical event Go

This is how Google expresses itself to communicate the cancellation of the event that should have been held from May 12 to 14 at the Shoreline Amphitheatre of Mountain View.

The news comes after the one that concerned the replacement of the physical event Google Cloud Next 20 with a digital edition, from April 6 to 8, streaming and free.

The formula used by Google to justify cancellation is the same as for re-locating the Next 20 digitally.

But the public perspective changes.

Google I/O is an event dedicated to developers, where the physicality expressed by the community is a fundamental asset.

For this reason, we are talking about cancellation and not substitution with a virtual event.

For Google, in fact, I/O is the biggest event of the year that serves to present new changes to Android, Google-based hardware and updates all the various services.

Google confirms that it is now exploring \ other ways to allow I/O to connect to its own developer community to the best.

Google states that participants will be fully reimbursed by March 13 and those who have purchased tickets for the 2020 event will automatically be granted the option to purchase an I/O 2021 ticket.
