Poste Italiane has signed an agreement with Tim to sell Internet connectivity to private individuals and companies through its subsidiary PostePay.

Poste Italiane will therefore propose fibre optic services through ultra-wideband technologies, and will do so by exploiting the capillaries of the network of its post offices and, likewise, the diffusion of the Tim network on national territory.

The Poste initiative is part of PostePay’s strategy of consolidating fixed telephony services and aims to expand the range of offers aimed at the consumer and business markets, with new ultrabroadband services in fibre optics.

The goal stated in a note announcing the agreement is to help reduce the digital divide between the different areas of the country.

The agreement with Tim, the same note states, should be interpreted as a strengthening of the ability of the Poste Group to respond more effectively to the different needs of customers confirming the central role of Poste Italiane in the process of digitalization and economic development of the Country.
